“My goal is to focus on the design, construction, and maintenance of locally made agricultural machines suited to the needs of Gambian farmers. The Gambia has fertile soil and adequate water for irrigation, yet most farm implements are imported and too expensive for the average farmer. By developing affordable, durable, and innovative local machines, I aim to reduce dependence on imports and make modern farming more accessible. Through research, technical training, and collaboration with local communities, I hope to build a sustainable system where young people can learn skills in machine fabrication and repair, contributing to rural development and food security. My vision is to transform farming in The Gambia from a labour-intensive activity into a modern, technology-driven sector that empowers farmers and strengthens the national economy.”
